Start or Grow an
Adult English Program

Offering an English Language Learning (ELL) program can be a wonderful way to engage internationals and begin to build friendships. You don't need to know another language or have a teaching degree to host, teach, or assist with an English program. KIN can help you get started and will walk with you along the way. Check out KIN's ELL resources here.

Curriculum Information

KIN recommends INTERCAMBIO curriculum.

Intercambio’s Confidence and Connections books help volunteer teachers and students learn together and make connections while students practice and improve their English. The curriculum has an Intro level and 5 subsequent levels. There are two books, a Left book and a Right book, in Levels 1 through 5 (with only one book at Intro). Programs start with either L or R, and complete both to finish a level.

Students take a placement test to determine which level they will start with. Visitors to the Intercambio website can see the in-person and online test forms by clicking a link.

KIN also recommends Intercambio's "The Immigrant Guide"... what every immigrant needs to know. Click the button below for more information.
