Knoxville Internationals Network
Connecting local internationals with resources to support integration into their new hometown.
KIN wants to be a resource for local internationals in this ever-changing environment on immigration policy.
God our Creator, We ask for your loving presence and for your peace to be with internationals in our local communities and around the world. Be with all who are in fear. Be with those whose lives and livelihoods are under threat, and whose religious freedoms are being compromised. Be with us as we strive to enact your will in our welcome and support of refugees. Be with those in positions of leadership, that their decisions may bend toward peace and not division, and that they might realize the power they hold to do justice. Give us all strength and courage. Equip and empower us to be witnesses to your love – as advocates and as servants, as ministers of welcome and bearers of hope, especially for those seeking refuge. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
Join us for a FREE ELL Workshop!
When: March 28th, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Where: Central Bearden Ministry Center--6228 Anderson Drive, Knoxville (behind the church) This workshop is designed to equip volunteer ELL directors, teachers, and encouragers with practical knowledge and tools to better serve adult ELL students. Participants will receive instruction on key immigration terminology and updates on recent immigration policy developments relevant to the communities they support. In addition to informational content, the seminar will provide guidance and practical ways on how to appropriately pray with and for international students and how to incorporate prayer in the lesson. The training will emphasize respect, empathy, and relationship-centered support, as well as spending time in prayer. The seminar will conclude with a facilitated roundtable discussion, creating space for participants to share challenges, exchange effective strategies, and highlight best practices. This collaborative component encourages peer learning, strengthens volunteer confidence, and promotes consistency in serving international students across programs. |
Our Monday Ministry Mingle will look a little different this year! Please join us on the first Monday of each month for lunch at an ethnic restaurant. Guests will need to cover their own meal.
This will be a time to fellowship with our network partners and volunteers while supporting one of our local international establishments. We hope to see you there! Join us in March! Details are listed below:
Due to recent policy changes (Public Law No. 119-21), refugees and some immigrant groups have permanently lost eligibility for SNAP benefits. KIN is working to provide resources to internationals affected by this change. If you need food assistance, you can use the link below to find local pantries or reach out directly to KIN for support.
