Our Faith is Strenthened by Diversity
Fulfilling the Great Commission
God loves internationals! The Bible consistently displays God's loving concern for the foreign-born, especially those who are socially and economically vulnerable (e.g., Leviticus 19:33-34).
The insights, perspective and talents of internationals are irreplaceable assets in the church's ministry. Faith is strengthened by seeing how the Spirit moves among diverse people (Acts 2:5-21).
Each foreign-born individual is handcrafted by God in His image, enhancing our city with their distinctive culture. The variety of international communities in Metro Knoxville mirrors the heavenly vision of "a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne in front of the Lamb" (Rev 7:9).
Native- and foreign-born Christians are brothers and sisters in Christ, and the whole body is called to help carry one another's burdens and to build one another up. Our impact in our community is stronger when we are united in our work and witness (John 17:21-23).
Christ Calls His Diverse Body to Unity
What motivates us?
Cultural Diversity is a Gift from God
Christ commands his followers to make disciples of all peoples and nations (Matthew 28:19). Christians with a missional heart can reach out to global neighbors who have come to us.
