Volunteer Adult English Teacher Training

Volunteer Adult English Teacher Training
(Also known as English as a Second Language - ESL)

Date: Saturday, August 9, 2025
Time: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Location: Central Bearden Church, ROC building
                  6300 Deane Hill Drive
Cost: $50/person

KIN's Adult English Teacher Training is for leaders, teachers, and volunteers. This training will help equip you to start your own ELL (English Language Learning) ministry and/or become part of an existing ELL ministry.

Please note:
- This training teaches volunteers how to lead an adult English language learning class. (It does not qualify you for teaching in the public school system.)
- Participants do not need to be able to speak a foreign language to attend the training.
- This faith-based class offers training on how to teach English while incorporating the Gospel; there are no educational pre-requisites.


Course Outline:
  • How to organize a church-based adult English program ministry
  • How to create deeper cultural awareness
  • How to determine a student's level of English language learning
  • Proven strategies for effective and interactive lesson planning
  • Classroom style and structure options  
  • Effective language teaching techniques and resources (communication activities, vocabulary, pronunciation, etc.)
  • How to naturally incorporate biblical material in your class
  • How to organically share your faith in Christ
