Volunteer Translators & Interpreters

Use your language skills to help others communicate!

Currently offering 45 languages, KIN maintains a list of multi-lingual individuals who are willing to translate documents and/or interpret speech for internationals with low English skills.
  • When KIN's volunteer coordinator calls, language volunteers can accept or decline the opportunity, depending on their availability.
  • Language volunteers complete the standard volunteer application. They must also sign the confidentiality agreement and undergo a background check, like other volunteers.

HOW IT WORKS
Translators usually receive digital copies of documents, which they edit on their own time, and return to our Volunteer Coordinator. These services usually have a deadline.

Interpreters make a phone call, join a video conference (such as Zoom), or accompany an international to a meeting/appointment. Interpreting requires the volunteer to be available at a certain time.
