Cultural Orientation & Debriefing for Mission Teams

KIN helps mission teams be more effective!

Prior to the trip: Culture-Specific Orientation
  • introduction to the culture of the area where the team will serve--what to expect, what to avoid
  • possible guest(s) from the culture or location, either an international or a former field worker
  • structured prayer time for the region, specific town/city to visit, etc.
  • Q & A session with trip leaders, KIN staff, & cultural guests

After the trip: Cultural Debriefing, Connection with Same People Group in metro-Knoxville
  • facilitate conversation regarding level of comfort in new culture and any cultural hurdles/challenges
  • brief orientation to KIN's ministry to local internationals from the same or similar culture in metro Knoxville
  • introduce team members to internationals from the same or similar culture for long-term relationships
  • structured prayer time for continued spiritual processing and future direction
